Anybody else got the lens on a Leica camera? I’m eagerly awaiting my copy - got a silver one, althought the panda looks gorgeous - but one of the big things about this lens is the low weight. Why add any?
Just received notification that the lens will ship soon as I now have my USPS tracking number. Check your emails, or your spam folder, for your preorder shipping notification!
Tracking shows delivery later today (28th) as Thousand Oaks is not too far away from Sacramento where a delivery in one day is not unheard of.
I'll post some "panda" SC photos with the lens mounted once I take receipt, but I won't be able to post photos using the lens until later...as I will still be on the clock at work.
The lens arrived a short while ago. I took some quick shots of the Nickel "Panda" SC on my M-A & M10M rangefinders.
I'll have some free time this weekend to go out and shoot some frames and a few rolls of film. Photos to follow later.
Note: The lens has a bit o' weight to it, but not anything egregious where the lens would cause the camera to tilt when put down (as shown in the photos). The weight almost feels like the original silver version that I had and feels a bit lighter than the 50 APO. It definitely is heavier than the Heliar.
The Leica / Voigtlander images are great, thanks. People will come to recognise Cosina as the most committed MF lens maker. Their fabrication/assembly guru has never worked on any autofocus lenses in 20 years. Their unpredictability is just another part of their charm, what comes next? No one knows..
