That's really awesome. I'm curious now how 8k 30p might come out on an R5/Sony A1. Though I imagine that many frames with that resolution could be problematic for any stacking software. I can already hear my PC begging me not to try.

It was indeed 30s. at 4k30, so 900 frames.

I have a pretty stout desktop (AMD Ryzen 5, 32gb ram). But I've stacked a lot of stuff on my laptop too. I'd try it if I had the camera. Just wait for it to do its thing.

My thought was a try at this at 8k would be very fun as well. Maybe if I ever upgrade tot he R5!

I am surprised your computer didn’t do a melt down!

I was thinking i could get away with 50 images….i could set my R3 to the super fast 192fps which would yield 50 frames. I need to try this….

Only about 9mb. 4k frames are only about 8mb total, so its not really a big file. The video file is larger, but there is freeware that aligns the frames (takes the drift out of the video), and then other freeware that stacks them in to a single TIFF Image. Since most of the data is the same between frames, it doesn't seem to make the final image much larger. There are some tutorials on Youtube you can look at. Search on stacking with PIPP, Autostakkert and Registax. All free programs, and some videos cover using all 3. I just followed along.

Bald Eagle Body Slam! Immature Bald Eagle gets body slammed into the river, knocking a fish out of it talons after following a mature Eagle too closely and messing with it's fishing. Video starts with the young one "tailgateing" the adult. I've included a little soft focus to add context to what happened before the slam. I repeat the contact part first at 1/2 speed, then at 1/4 speed to allow you to see it better. Please watch to the end for the very slow motion version. Below Lock and Dam 21 in NE Missourion the Mississippi River 2.20.23.

I have observed a pair of Peregrine Falcons that have nested at the Mississippi River bridge at Hannibal, Mo for a few years. Every once in a while I get the chance to photograph one. This is from last Friday morning.

The more I shoot with this lens, the more I think it really was an absolutely brilliant decision from Canon to make it. It's got quite good image quality, and it's so light, and so convenient - giving supertelephoto reach to the masses. I've been super pleased with mine, and it's really a perfect lens for me, given that I don't shoot supertelephoto that often, so the more expensive lenses in this range are just nowhere near an option.
