After using this lens for some time, I feel the Bokeh at transitions is not so good as in outlines and busy…. I am wondering if I can do better for a telephoto. Is the Sony 70-200mm gm ii better? I know it’s f2.8 and I am not comparing bokeh at completely oof distance as all lens are good there. It’s always the transitions that bugs me.
I have the Sony 135mm gm and I feel it is similar to the sigma. I think the 85mm gm bokeh looks better but it’s soft and slow focusing….
I love my sigma f1.2 even though it’s super heavy because of its trasitional bokeh.

I don't think there is a tele of similar sharpness with significantly smoother transition zones...
You can try the Samyang I or II, I wouldn't call it smoother but a different look (more dreamy -> a plus for portraits).
