Tried again today and karma beat me again. We didn't get the snow, except a dusting. Of course my blind blew over and the inside was covered in snow. I can live with that, expect when melting and dripping onto my coat it sounded like gunfire to the critters. I got one lonely turkey this morning. I should have bumped up the exposure. He here is a cropped raw file converted to jpeg via the lightroom export. I tried another in DPP but the file is large so I may not be able to post it.
Same file the top edited in Lightroom and the bottom in DPP. The DPP file is larger and I may have adjusted the unsharp mask.

Thank you. I appreciate it. I am getting more familiar with the camera now and it is a lot of fun to use.
Are you converting RAW files with DPP4? I am impressed with my first few images but can't stand having to use DPP for raw conversion. I am anxiously awaiting Capture One to update so I can go back to what I am used to. DPP kind of ruins the joy of the new camera!

The DPP version shows signs of sharpening however it does have more pop. Nice shot!
I certainly have not run enough photos through the camera or programs, but it does appear from first glance DPP is handling the raw files a bit better. I am going to work on getting some shots I want to edit and really see what I can get out of them. I haven't done my part, but my initial thoughts are the files from the 1dx3 are nice.

No, I am using Lightroom and PS now. Before the updates I was using DPP because Lightroom did not work.
Normally I would not post this due too the lighting was horrible with a 12800 ISO. Noise ruined the shot really but I think it is a great example of the new Af capabilities. I was impressed seeing it did have a fairly busy background. I wished I had better light for the shot.

Was this (Northern Cardinal) shot taken via OVF or “Live View”?
Did you fake just this one photo or series of shots? Were the other shots also in focus?

Taken in live view with the face tracking AF setting using a loupe. Yes I did have more in focus with both the Cardinal and the Chickadee. The next cardinal shot looked like a red bullet all tucked in. I was only able to get a couple and then it was off the screen.

That’s great to hear!
I wonder if OVF AF is as good as the live view?
Battery life is outstanding. I have been mainly using Live view and in the cold and I only need one battery per outting. They did increase the performance of them.
