Hi All. I recieved a 50 APO today and first thing I noticed is that the focus ring went way past infinity. This lens doesn't have a hard stop infinity?
This has been noted and discussed. As the marking indicates, it has a (small) range. Infinity, likely will vary according to the temperature due the all the APD elements. You see the same with the APO Lanthar 110mm as well.

Jim, true. I think in possible case of temperature change or slightly misadjusted adapter, infinity is not a hard stop. This makes infinity focus always achievable.
Hmm, thanks for your responses. My lens goes way past infinity distance, by a large range. I find it odd that temp or atmosphere could affect infinity that much on a short 50mm lens. My FD 300L has an adjustable infinity stop, but that's 300mm. I've always had a hard stop infinity on most of my lenses. I wonder if its adjustable?
Be it a pet or human being, (very) few lenses capture the personality of the subject as well as this one does. It just gets out of the way, in a manner of speaking.
Canola? 3 years ago and about this time of year we took a train north from Warsaw and were treated to many beautiful views of the Polish countryside, many of the fields adorned with yellow. You've nailed it!
Desperate to get out and shoot anything, so took a walk yesterday evening to some local fields with my 7yo daughter. Unfortunately half way there she told me she needed the bathroom (but not the kind that could have been solved au-naturel), so my time was short. Kids!
