This is almost the same setting I have, except mine is m11-p safari.
I was contemplating to get the safari version of this lens but every time I look at this silver chrome, I feel it's better looking on the safari body. So I hold of the purchase.
Maybe I should just get a modern asph in safari version.
I only have a couple of silver chrome lenses, and rest are all blacks. I still think silver on safari is better than safari on safari, which is just too much green.

I agree on the V2 Silver, obviously 😁 (Sorry for the crappy iPhone image)
Yes, if one can find a silver MS 50 ISM I think it would look glorious with that gray navy colorway in a custom MD or M10D body.
The closest non collector mat.-nr is lhsa silver 11628 which like the 11688 is the lux asph pre cf in the 1960s V2 housing.
Cant seem to find the mat nr of the Leica Galerie without seeing the lens or the card inside.
The 1 of 20 M2 Uzs Navy it was bases on might be on display at the F22 Gallery shop in HK but not sure atm. F11 is closed to public but open for special visits [since its Douglas So's main collection]. jourdan.merritt wrote:
oh my god, please put a NSFW tag for that camera. I've never seen that - wow, stunning!
Silver looks good on everything.... black chrome black paint safari and chrome Ms film to dig
even my 1950s collapsible summicron or 1960s rigid looks good on all as well as all the more recent lenses and those to come.

The scalloped silver barrel suits the safari well
The Frankfurt Edition also opted to use this barrel with the matching silver hood

I saw some up close photos of the front lens element on the new LLL 75mm SPII and the glass coating is amber which could mean some quite different flares and artefact effects than the 50mm counterpart.
Frankly I’m all for it, my desire to acquire the lens based on just that jumped from 1 to 11, well let’s say from 8 to10 if honesty is a factor.
It’s odd, when the 35mm 1.4 AA was released, every human with a YouTube channel had one.
Now the coverage for the SPII 75mm is non existent.
YouTube reviews are not that helpful but Bobby could pull it off.

Yes, it looks amber to me. That usually means the lens will produce a slightly cooler overall color temperature in the image, because more warm tones are reflected off the coating. At the same time, any ghosting flare will take on an amber/yellowish hue (instead of blue/purple like the 50/2 SP2). So while the scene may read cooler, the highlights from bright light sources or the sun will show that warm, amber character.

Great analysis Fred! I was not sure how it could affect the rendering with certainty, your knowledge should confirm what I hoped it could do.
A Speed Panchro with different coating is what I was curious about since LLL released the 50mm f2.
The late discovery of that amber coating teint, alone, totally shifted my interest in the project, I think that lens might be more unique and desirable than its quiet release might make it appear.

This photo was posted on the LLL's instagram. It's very rare to see the original Leica Elcan next to the LLL Elcan:
Someone found a lot of loose change in the sofa ! I know I have said to more than one person seeing all the over top Leica stuff go by in auctions, that if I was to ever go for something like that it would be KE7a and Elcan or just the Elcan if one was separated from the camera, anyways that is my rare rare Leica covet.
Joking aside, LLL announced they were no longer making Elcans a while ago, there are a few new ones still floating around at some dealers.
I really like my LLL Elcan, I bought two. Could this mean they are reversing their decision and putting the Elcan back on the menu ?
Spring blooming, this is Arizona giant "asparagus", SP2 rigid/ M11 EV1 late afternoon light. The agave send up a 10-15 foot stalk in just a few weeks, and after a decade or more of growth will flower and die. Agave are abundant I have many around my home and each year 1-2 will will go through the bloom cycle heralding Spring. In a few weeks these will no longer have the asparagus look and will put a branched flowers at the top that is also a good photo subject. Cobalt Kodachrome 25.
