p.5 #1 · Fujifilm X100V Coming soon!

Glad I returned my x100F (within the return policy) and decided to put the money towards a Mint/used jumbo weather sealed version: gfx50R + 50/3.5. Wow what a difference. I have been waiting for a weather sealed Sony Rx1m or a X100MF which didn’t happen. No ibis ND and leaf shutter but can’t get everything. The efcs helps a lot and the shutter sound is super nice (almost like my x-h1)

This jumbo x100f has forced me to slow down and think.

I like the way you are thinking. I’m going to keep the X100S, pass on the V and pick up the Gf50mm for the 50R. I also prefer the 40mm equivalent to 35mm.

You won’t regret it. You might stop using your other MF lenses 😃
I can even wrap it in a small towel and drop it in my work bag

It’s cured my gas and FOMO, for now. I have the best rangefinder style setup. The AF speed is at least as good as the x100F was. The 50mm uses linear motors.

You know... you can slow down and think with a smaller camera, too. :-)

True, but the image quality and the experience is very different vs a X-pro1/2 + 27mm or a X100F/V

I like your X-pro2+27mm pics a lot (on your Flickr stream) and artistically I might not get there with the MF combo but it de-GASed me

Hehe... to be honest it’ll be an excellent antidote to the mild case of Leica Q/Q2 of mine.

I went for the opposite. Was using GFX 50R+GF45mm. Scratching my head seeing why so many great looking pictures produced with X100F. Bought one and instantly fell in love. There are many instances I want to shoot at dim light location and wanted a lot of DOF. And for some weird reason the output of X100F just felt right, every single time. With GFX, it's a hit and miss, especially when lighting is less than ideal. And the size and weight of X100F, what a relief.

I did a lot of researches on the new sensor, and formed my own speculation, didn't quite like what I saw from the output of X-T3. I can now carry a light weight and small camera with me everyday and enjoy the hell out of it. And if the new version is a huge improvement over the F, I'll just wait till the price drop and upgrade then.

I think you made the right call. I have used the X100 series for a long time (since the original) and I wanted a change and wanted to try something different (a new look) for the new decade.

Also I looked carefully at my pics from the x100 and xpro1+35 over the years and I prefer something closer to the 35. And can't get that in a compact package like the X100 sans adapters.

So it looks like it will be weather resistant if you put a filter on it according to the brochure fujirumors posted.

Meh. That cures my gas. I know the camera is better than my X100T, but it isn't a huge leap. I'll keep shooting my 100T and pocket the $1500 for the next camera fund.

The $1500 plus a few hundred a month for the next year gets me with in a Christmas present of a M10M.

While I'm not impugning your decision, the two cameras are very different tools. This is like saying "I'm glad I returned my Honda accord and used that money towards a Tesla".

If you had to do the same thing to get "WR" before, there's no change. I personally appreciate lens hoods and used a clear filter to protect the lens anyway. Yes, it does add maybe 1.5cm of depth to the camera, but I've still been able to shove it into a jacket pocket.

But yes, people will complain. Unless Fuji specifically calls the camera out as having WR, it's not WR as far as I'm concerned, and I have just accepted that.

Yes we are just human and need to breath some fresh air at some point. Most importantly we all enjoy the decision we make.

I never use APSC cameras and Fuji seems to be doing some amazing things there with the small sensors. The experience with the X100 made me want to venture into X system should I need to shoot more videos or long focal length for portraits.

And people used the X100 series in rainy weather and still kicking. But my experience is even with GFX and GF lens I still don't feel comfortable to expose my camera to water for one simple reason - I don't want myself to get soaked up, too! So with or without WR doesn't make a difference for me.

I like to go on overnight hikes and take photos of beautiful places and I don't get to choose the weather. If it is drizzling when I arrive at a scenic overlook, I would like to take photos. And maybe I can. But what if, just what if, something happens to my "non-WR" camera, and it dies while I am on the trip? I no longer have a camera to capture these beautiful places. I want the peace of mind that my expensive camera won't fry if it receives some light rain or get splashed by a wave or mist from a waterfall. Fuji doesn't say it's WR so it's not like they would repair it for free. And even then, I can't get it repaired until I am home, so again, I am risking not being able to take photos of beautiful places that are hard to get to. I just want the peace of mind. So I have unfortunately switched to a much larger and heavier X-T3 setup because I have no other option.

Rumored price $1400. Would you buy it?
If it's same price $1300, I would have ordered it now but if it's $1400 then I think I will wait until Fuji have a sale.

I like the new look of 100V better than 100F although they are almost the same design.

I don't think $1400 for this camera is not that bad. Better than the $1500 rumor that was going around a few days ago. I'm thinking of picking one up, especially if the WR is correct and only needs a filter to complete.
