Well what do you know! My B&H order page was just updated to: "In stock, order sent to warehouse." Finally! I'm anxious to give this lens a workout to see what it is capable of. Hopefully I'll have it by next Wednesday if all goes well.
Just received my copy of the lens today. Adorama delivered it way earlier than I expected. Haven't shot anything yet, but an impromptu autofocus test equaled very quick results without any noise. So far, so good.
Size-wise, it looks comparable to the 14-24mm f/2.8 in length. Slightly bigger barrel. Lens hood makes it look ginormous. Gonna have to reconfigure my Pelican case as it's basically the same diameter (with lens hood) as the 70-200mm GM.
Excellent! If you can share a RAW at 24mm @ f8-11 that would be amazing.... :-)

Yeah there is quite a few in the wild now but no one appears to be doing anything with them
Im looking forward to some proper samples too... I may end up getting mine before I see any at this rate!

I Got my copy late yesterday and tested it this morning on the A7r IV. I did a wall test [ props to "Big Bronco" ] against my copy of the GM 24-70 F 2.8. The Wall is approximately 40 feet away from me.
I'm trying to figure out how to post images here. I'm currently uploading my results on my Flickr account and once they are uploaded I will link it here.
My Copy of the GM is SOLID and acceptably centered considering it's a Zoom!
MY Standard testing procedure:
Carbon fiber tripod.
Meticulously Manual focused at F2.8 Dead center... the words "Auto SPKR".
Did not refocus at every F stop.
Refocused at every focal length.
OSS set to Off.
No wind.
Shot in RAW
Lightroom default prior to export as jpeg.
No Lightroom lens correction profiles used on GM or 14-24 DG DN since none exist for the @ 24-70 DG DN
Initial thoughts:
Sigma is shorter and smaller and "seems" lighter.
24-70 rotation is opposite of GM [ Sigma counter clockwise...Sony Clockwise ]. takes some getting use to.
@24 and 35 Sigma beats sony GM in corner to corner sharpness. from F2.8 to F16
24-70 Art Closely Rivals 14-24 DG DN @ 24 [ splitting hairs close ]
@50 Gm is sharper at the extreme corners and outer edges. Sigma beats or ties it from center to APS-C image circle from F2.8 to F16
@70 Sigma wins in center sharpness but from APS-C image circle outwards GM is sharper

depending on your application, it may be a very good lens then. I am currently using an adapted canon 24-70 2.8LII lens and considering switching to sigma. your post is helpful. liking forward to your link to flicker.

I should have been more specific..the downside of the Sigma seems to be direction of zoom and peripheral at 70mm. Given the price difference the Sigma is looking pretty good.

To me, just looking at images.
Center is sharp throughout at f2.8. weakest at 70mm, but even there pretty good.
Corners are good at 24 2.8, and very good at 5.6 to F8. all other focal length the lens needs to be stopped down to f11 to have good corners. still usable as landscape lens. seems to have good performance over all.
Having done a lot of testing, I know the amount of work that goes in to doing it correctly, so thank you.
there is a guy in the building taking pictures of you with his cell phone by the way, i think you can see him at 35mm.
At 70mm f2.8, the Sigma is notably sharper in the center. It is sharper on the left edge, but the GM is sharper on the right edge. If both lenses were centered, it would probably be a wash at the edges between the two.
This is amazing performance for an $1,100 lens. I think I might prefer it to my GM lens. I'll wait for more tests that include CA's, LoCA's, bokeh, coma, flare, etc.
I'd seen almost enough to buy it in L-mount and try it for myself, but this looks good enough to push me over the edge. I just hope I can find it in stock before we leave town for the holidays.
