Twilight last night at Zion NP. This is a single exposure. My copy of the 24-105mm f/4 performed very well wide open, sharp across the frame. I meant to bring the 35/1.4 for this shot but had left it back at camp. There’s some haloing from the sky mask made in Lightroom and I probably would need to move to Photoshop to get a better result.

This thread makes me question if i should keep this lens or the sigma 28-105 f2.8 i have on the way. I actually rented the sigma and shot it side by side with the 24-105 and saw maybe 5-10% different in sharpness (in sigma's favor). I was surprised by how insignificant it really was. But I really am looking for better contrast and flare resistance, which the sigma does deliver on at a huge size/weight penalty and without the OSS.
If anyone wants to make my mind up for me i may post up my super sharp copy of the 24-105. It is by far the sharpest copy i have tried out of 4. It is the one chuck coyne used and posted test results of way back in the original 24-105 thread when people realized it was as sharp as the GM at the time. Holler at me and i can make a sale thread
