The FE 24-105mm is generally my favorite all purpose lens. I have a fairly comprehensive set of lenses from 14mm through 600mm, so I'm covered for most uses. Sony has come out with some amazing optics in the past couple of years.

Over in Japan now and was just debating on getting this lens. I’ve heard mixed reviews that it was soft while others said it was sharp. I think your pictures just sold me on it. Thanks

I certainly wouldn't qualify it as a soft lens.
For a G lens, I'd say it punches above its weight.

The first one I bought was not just soft but hardly anything would be focused. That was throughout the focal range. The replacement is excellent and tact sharp throughout the focal range. May be some copy variation with this lens but not sure other than knowing my first copy was definitely a bad copy.

Here's an unusual shot (for me) done yesterday in Washington, NC. I cheated and did a bit of postprocessing to eliminate particles in the dark (CPL filter) water surrounding the lily pad.
