p.4 #1 · Wimberly vs Really Right Stuff replacement lens foot for 200-600?
Rich I'm 3 weeks daily use of the Wimberly and never an issue....carried many a mile on the security strap. I don't think we can go wrong with any of them. I just had the trip upon me and chose what was available. No word from Hejnar since sending in the OEM for his study but I've been away from most signals.

It looks like Kirk Enterprises has updated the page about the LP-68 replacement foot for the 200-600mm G lens. It looks like there is an actual photograph of the foot and and updated the specs:
As a further update, I also just received and e-mail from Kirk Enterprises that the Pre-order price of $80 is good through September 16. The price will then increase on Monday, September 16.
Also they have a photo of the replacement foot for the 600mm GM lens, the LP-67 and it has a price of $65.

Hi Robert,
Are you back from the trip and didi you have a good time? Did you receive your Neoprene cover from Hubert? Mine seems to have fallen off the face of the earth. Shipped out 3 weeks ago and no updates since it was supposed to have left Poland.

Hejnar told me a "month +" for the 2-6 foot when I asked him a few days ago.

For those that have waited past the Pre-order period for the Kirk Enterprises LP-68 Replacement foot for the 200-600mm G lens, the price has been increased from the $80 pre-order price to the regular selling price of $90.

At a little before 4:00PM today I received word from Dawn at Kirk Enterprises that they had my LP-68 replacement foot ready for shipment which was followed shortly by the request for the remaining payment for the foot. I paid this just after 5:00 PM and hope they will ship it to me tomorrow.
So, it looks like Kirk has at least some of the first run Pre-orders of the replacement feet complete and ready for shipment prior to the estimated September 27 shipping date.
How many of the replacement feet have been prepared and if they have more than were Pre-ordered, I have no idea.
I will update this shortly and hope to get some photos posted soon after I take delivery. I will probably post images of the lens with both my Neoprene cover, etc. at the same time and will also have comparison images with the one with my 100-400mm GM.

Now a new option for someone wanting a QR option for the 200-600mm, but not wanting to spend as much as a replacement foot. Hejnar has come up with an add-on plate designed just for the 200-600mm. $38. It has two QD sockets and an anti-rotation pin.
I just got one of these to try out, and it's very nice. A great compact solution for adding arca QR and QD options to the 200-600mm.

I really like the Wimberley foot, but wish it had the QD socket. It’s the perfect length and works very well as a handle. At $79, it’s relatively well-priced compared to other replacement feet. I might take it to a machine shop and ask them if they can drill a QD socket for me.
Well Kirk now shows the LP-68 replacement feet are out of stock so either the earlier listing for this morning was incorrect or the remaining first production run seems to have sold out.

Rich
Rich, probably the later, at least, I hope so. I paid for mine yesterday already. And earlier this morning, I sent an email to Dawn at Kirk asking for an update on the shipping status and I have yet to hear back from her.

I got a shipping notice today too. I had ordered the Kirk replacement foot several weeks ago. But it looks like it will arrive earlier than their original estimate!

My Kirk LP-68 replacement foot for my 200-600mm G lens was delivered earlier today. The fit and finish as always is quite good. Unlike the Kirk replacement foot for the 100-400mm GM lens which balances the lens flat on a table surface when the lens is in its collapsed form, the Kirk replacement foot needs a camera body mounted on the lens for the lens to sit flat on a table surface.

Mine arrived as well. As you said, it's very well made, and the integrated QD socket is positioned so the lens hangs nicely balanced from my sling strap (with a gripped-body mounted).
I do have a question about the purpose of a small screw that protrudes from the top side of the foot. Anyone know what this is for?
