I stayed 6 days at a lodge some 2 hours away NE of Quito to cover the Andes rainforest and the last 2 days in Quijos some 3 hours east into the Upper Amazon rainforest of Ecuador. I will be posting a thread that would cover gear some aspect, birding circumstances there and current travel conditions during the pandemic, etc.
The round-headed, blue and gray Florida Scrub-Jay is the only bird species that lives exclusively in Florida, where it occurs in patches of low-growing scrub oak in sandy soils.

There was an overhead canopy, enough to minimize the rain effect on me and most importantly, on the gear . I had a rain poncho; the shoes got splashed on but they are waterproof. So, overall it was still bearable. It was muddy though…
