Like a lot of us, I spend a lot of time focusing on individual feather detail and composition usually on only one bird. As a change up I spent some time on group shots over the weekend. We have so many birds right now at the local NWR and the combination of the 600mm + A7R4 + 2xTC can bring that out in good light and make for some interesting images
Very nice! Looks like Bombay Hook? Haven't been there for 4 months. Took my 600 GM out to walk my dog at the lake at dawn this morning. Saw a few geese taking off from the water and got a few shots, too noisy at such high ISO, even Topaz denoise AI could only do so much. I had the max. aperture at f6.3 in the memory, when I had the 200-600. Forgot to change it to F4.
Anyway, I was glad I could find them in the EVF! These are my first shots of birds since I got the lens about 2 weeks ago.

Yes, that is BHNWR. A place I spend a lot of time Oct-May. Summer... just too many biting flies
Wow, what an amazing lens and even great photographer. Almost all pictures are fantastic but the 4th of the first post and the one of the falcon with the bug are simply fantastic
Colleagues, need your help please. I own the Nikon 600mm f4 FL lens and like it a lot. Thinking about switching to Sony and getting the Sony 600mm lens. The only issue I have is a question regarding it's optical stabilization functionality. All posted images are great but most of them are done on higher shutter speeds. I do aviation photography and sometimes I need to pan a bit and use shutter speeds around 1/60. As I understood from some of reviews, it's a problem here. Any feedback? Thanks.

I think that if you put it in mode 2 (designed for panning) there's no issues. You will love the light weight - this is something that Nikon is really behind with, as the Canon 600/4 is the same weight as this Sony. The Nikon is a tank.
The secretive and elusive Pacific Wren, a denizen of dark forests, and whos name is spoken of only in hushed tones.
Ok, that last bit is a bit much, but they are a challenge to photograph.
