Really nice images, congrats on the new lens! That damn R5 better get announced soon, after shooting with the 200-600 on the a9 for a bit I’m starting to look more and more at that 600 GM.

I made it back last night from a trip to Europe and no, I didn't take my GM 600mm on this trip . Here is an image out of the merganser vs. crayfish that hasn't been posted... I took over 1,000 images that day in January have although not all of them are worth editing though....

Not the greatest light today for the SEOs but it was awesome none the less and the lens really performed well. Was a beautifyl day right up until the shorty show.

Fist bump! Not the most sharp but fun :-)

Here is an image of my roller bag and its content. In the middle is the 600mm GM with its generic green lens hood. I use a lens cradle from my TT Lens Limo there. I have the 100-400mm GM lens on the left, a Godox AD 200 inside a pouch. A Wimberley flash bracket, Better Beamer and a Godox wireless trigger and an Olympus Dot Sight inside pouches will go on the top of the flash. Two TCs and a 24-105mm f/4 lens inside a pouch in the corner at bottom near the roller on the other side; the

Hi Joshua:

Saw this just now. Very interesting. I too, for a few years now have been taking my roller as the main bag. However, I've been using a large size ICU from f-Stop inside the roller to keep all the lenses and cameras. Cannot fit the 600 this way, but if I get the x-large size it may work. The hood would be a problem. What is the generic lens hood (the green one) you have for the 600? Is it from Aquatech? I used to own one of those for my big Canon lens and it was great to be able to carry it in the checked baggage, but I like your green one more, it seems to offer extra protection. I too own the various TT neoprene pouches, as well as those from Lenscoat. They do work well for the other lenses.

I usually carry the Gura Gear Chobe as my other bag and keep the laptop and camera bodies inside that.

Thanks,

Pradeep

Hi Pradeep, the green generic hood was made by a local guy that has a 3-D printer. The outer diameter is approximately the same as the original just shorter by about 40% or so. Yes, it adds some protection over the soft and foldable ones like Aquatech or Roland Pro. It is not cheap though, I paid $160, which is the same price as that from Aquatech and more for the Roland Pro. For transport, the way I showed it though, the OEM lens hood would fit in my roller bag, too. The key is, the lens cradle where the lens can rest and the same goes for the rigid lens hood. The length of my roller bag is 23-inches and that is about the maximum length allowed for carry-on luggage on international flights.

I carry my MBP, iPad, charger, etc in a separate computer bag that is small enough to be considered as a personal bag. I can slide that bag over the handle of the roller bag for a convenient way during airport transit.

Please let me know if you have any additional questions,
Joshua
