Another or same short eared owl, it's mating season, but these are not its testicles, just its feet slightly untucked from its body. Most of the time the feet are tucked close
Just curious, if Sony makes a new 600 GM with a built-in 1.4TC like the Nikon Z 600, and charge $2000 more, would you guys be interested? I would, just for the convenience. But I already have the 1.4TC on my 600 GM 90% of the time already.

Same for me. I was looking for my 1.4x the other day and was convinced that I lost it, or someone took it....then I realized it was on the back of my 600, where it has been for 6 months (over several trips and many shots).

Well, it depends on how much I could get for the original GM 600mm without any TC . A difference of $2,000 is lot of money for a TC that would normally cost some $500. Including the loss from the sale of the original GM lens though, the actual $ difference is probably more like $4,500 to $5,000. That’s far cry more than just $2,000. I almost can guarantee that the price of the GM 600 would go down quite a bit as soon as a new version with built-in TC is announced . A built-in TC is however very convenient, I admit. Plus, I remembered back then from my C days that a combo of two 1.4X TCs (the other one is made by Kenko) would yield slightly better images than the 2X TC by itself. But back then though, the 2X TC from C was a piece of crap, to say it bluntly. Sony 2X TC, on the other hand, is quite a bit better.
