Looking at a small portion of the flock of Snow Geese that had taken off. I would estimate that thousands of Snow Geese had congregated beyond the retention ponds behind our home and onto the flooded land on both sides of the creek on the other side of the retention ponds (on the one side farmers fields were flooded).
Tripod mounted 200-600mm Gset to 600mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.

Merritt was good to you this year!
Hi Robert,
Thank you. I wish that I had more birds closer to me. More to come including those of a very cooperative Tricolored Heron.
By the way, this was my one and only time visiting Merritt Island. I only had 2 1/2 to 3 hours there as my wife and her daughter had gone out on the Gambling boat and I had to pick them up once they returned.
Gatorland was a really productive time for my 2 visits, one in May and the second on January 6.

Nice photos! Unless you were still there, you just missed the front that came through the night of the 8th. I was in Hollywood visiting family and the winds came through sustained at 30-40mph and it lasted 3 days. But I got my Burrowing Owl shots before!

Thank you. Unfortunately we flew out of Sanford back to Allentown on January 9 so we were unable to take advantage of the change in the weather.

Gator land is a great place to practice BIF that's for sure. I like the Farm in St.Augustine better, just feels more intimate and 'classy' but Gator land offers the closest to chicks you'll find anywhere. I've been going to Gator land since 1959 when it was just 10 years old...changed very little. Can you believe the Farm has been in operation since the late 1800's Well Rich I feel for you and your dearth of bierds. If it weren't for Cardinals I'd starve!
