Not really. 600 f4 is completely in different league when it comes to clarity, detail, sharpness , overall rendering, etc. It is not 5 times better though but it sure is better. 200-600 is budget option, 600 f4 is the best option. It's only hard to justify if you don't have founds for it including myself
Great shots here, keep them coming. If I already did not have 100-400, 200-600 would also be my lens for Sony telephoto lens.

I will defer to those that have both lenses. I was under the understanding that the 600mm GM is a little sharper than the 200-600mm G at 600mm. Yes the f4 rendering is better than the 1.3 stop slower f6.3 of the 200-600mm G lens at 600mm. Additionally the AF of the 600mm GM is faster and perhaps more reliable and better with some camera bodies due to AF, tracking and acquisition of focus and possibly a little longer than the zoom set to 600mm. However, the 200-600mm G lens is smaller and more compact, lighter, and a much more flexible optic, as well as substantially less expensive than the 600mm GM.
I have an immature male here in Texas, a wayward stranger if you will. I am hoping he stays until he matures, we will see. Sorry for the feeder shots, flowers are pretty much gone until spring.
