Has anyone downloaded the firmware update for this lens? How did it go?
I was about to the other day, mainly because it shows improved OSS performance with a7R5
After reading the steps to do this on Macs with Apple Silicon, I gave up ... Sony's nuts

I’m on a MacBook M1, I followed the steps and the update went through just fine. While I did not appreciate the extra steps required on the Mac, I did not find it complicated and I do seem to be getting better stabilization now coupled with my A7RV. I continue to be pleased with just how sharp my copy is, wow! Better than similar zooms I owned previously (Nikon 200-500, Sigma 60-600 and 150-600 C, Tamron 150-600 G1 & G2).
I need to use mine more. Enjoyed it last week on a trip to Florida:

I did the update yesterday and found it a bit of a pain with all the restarts and security changes on my M1Max Mac, but got it done after about 20 min. Haven't gotten out to test yet.
Here are a couple from Ridgefield Wildlife Refuge in southern WA last week.

I finally had a chance to test out my new A7RV and the 200-600. I still need to make some tweaks to the A7RV to get the best performance, but I am quite pleased with this combo compared to the A7RIV (which I sold last year). My recently purchased 200-600 from another FM'er is a really sharp copy. These images were taken yesterday on the wildlife drive at Merritt Island Wildlife Refuge near Titusville, FL.
