I thought I'd miss the semi-macro capabilities of my recently sold 100-400 which I replaced with the 70-200II. However, in addition to the new 70-200, the 200-600 serves as a decent pseudo-macro, as you just have to step back a couple meters. And, of course, it gets "closer" to little brown birds. Some shots taken with the 200-600 on December 17 at a lake adjacent to the DesPlaines River in northern Illinois USA follow.
