These Yellow-crowned night herons are a rare sight here in central Iowa. There were nine of the them when I visited the marsh last Saturday. These images were taken with the A9ii, 200-600 with 1.4tc.

A selection of shots from a 50+ shot sequence of some Redtailed Hawk hunting. I was really impressed with the results of this sequence, not a single out-of-focus shot in the bunch. All hand-held. Unfortunately not great light as it was just in between some thunderstorms rolling through the area.

The nesting season this year was pretty quite, I guess a coyote got into the nest site for the plovers and terns so not a lot of chicks (someone told me there was only 1 that survived). This was taken a couple of weeks ago, one of the few plovers I even saw.
