Friday morning a couple of us were having pretty good luck photographing wood ducks in a small pond at a local park. Things really picked up when we noticed two pileated woodpeckers flying back and forth in the wooded area surrounding the pond. We had a blast trying our best to capture them in flight. I had no idea how challenging it would be.

Rain all weekend here in Iowa. Had to turn the furnace back on yesterday. There are some woodies close to home, but waiting for some better light...great pic by the way.

It's like the winter skies are still happening. I may have to take ... landscapes/cityscapes.

So my first outing with a A9II and 200-600. Needless to say I like it alot. Most shots with 1.4x. Have been a long time Nikon shooter, but I thought I would give the Sony a try on birds. I'm hooked!

Thank you. The images were taken with the A9ii/200-600 with the 1.4tc. The A9ii did its job, but I had trouble keeping them in the frame. I have no idea how these guys are capturing the fantastic swallow photos they are posting.
