Here are 2 images of a less colorful but in-flight bird at high speed. It is two subsequent frames of the one I posted previously, where they falcons did a mid-air food transfer over the Pacific Ocean. The location was way too far away to get meaningful images of the actual action. The female here was flying back to the cliff where I was standing. I could track it well until it disappeared under the ledge as it dove down first before it would appear again from below and landed on the ledge. I couldn’t guess, which ledge where it would land.
Anyway, originally I preferred the previous image because it showed the prey, a starling, well but the magnification of these is slightly larger. The first one also shows the starling and in the second one the spread of the starling’s wings makes it look like a part of the peregrine. The shape of the falcons looks like a stealth B-2 aircraft. I am not sure who has copied the aerodynamic mode/look there .

Have to love the reach and resolution/acuity of the A7Riv with the 200-600.
I was having a slow day at my local birding spot and saw a white speck on the ground way off in the distance (well over 100 meters) that I thought might be a Peregrine Falcon. The following pics show what I captured at 200mm at 61MP, what I captured at 600 mm in cropped mode (900mm, 26MP) on my A7Riv, and a heavily cropped image in post, probably the equivalent of at least 5000mm. Since I shot all of these handheld the final result was nothing exceptional, except for the fact I found the subject to be very interesting as the Falcon was using a coil of rope as its dining table and all things considered I was still impressed with what I could get with this combo.
