+1. I just got mine. Of course, the weather has turned foul, and I am busy with other things - but the handling, AF, OIS, and IQ are all better than I had hoped they would be.

Yeah I have that same combo too and given hoe good the 100-400 GM already is, I would have much preferred a 600 f/5.6 G prime than the zoom. It’s overkill to own the 100-400 and 200-600 IMO. For the pixel challenged A9 I’d prefer the 200-600 but don’t really want to sell my 100-400. The Nikon 500 PF is just a stunningly good lens and with my D500 gives me a good amount of reach. If the next A9 II is really 36MP, then I may just stick with the 100-400 + 1.4x combo as that would give 25% more reach than the A9 anyway. Also if Nikon can release a D850 successor with even better AF and more pixels, I’d get that in a heartbeat to use with my D500.
I’m going to wait a few months and see what is announced for the A9II and also the price gouging on the 200-600 in Australia is ridiculous, with many shops asking $3300. Still the 200-600 will be hard to resist and I’ll probably weaken. One idea I have is if the A9II is really 36MP I’ll sell my A7RIII to fund the 200-600 and keep the 100-400 too. I often bird with the Nikon and 500 PF on my Black Rapid strap and the A9 +100-400 around my neck.

All things considered, I feel that the a9II with 200-600 (and 1.4 when needed) is [going to be] a killer combo, especially with the versatility of the zoom.
