I love my A9 II but there are situations where I really would like to get more cropping ability of a 50MP sensor like in this image here that I ended up cropping significantly. Yes, I could and should have zoomed in closer but in the heat of the moment, I didn’t do it here. I am ready for the A9 III that would help me cover my mistake .

Some closeup shots from yesterday. I saw one long tailed duck too after I put away the long lens. That was a first for me, hope I will see him again next time.

Yes I need me some of that A9R action also.....50MP with A9II or better AF and a full Bird Eye-AF like my R5....sign me up...take my $$$.....

Very nice Doug. I see more and more nice results from the A7r4 and 200-600 lens thanks to the latest firmware and the members on this forum who helped troubleshoot and sort things out.

Thank you Laslo! Some of the duck pictures were taken from a very close distance, very little cropping was needed. The details of these A7RIV files are incredible on a big monitor.
I like this shot. Everyone says "don't chop off the wings". But, if you had zoomed out to get the full bird then we would not have had this close up detail to look at. It is a flying bird portrait.

I continue to be just ecstatic with this lens, and am becoming better with nailing focusing on the RIV. Although I might have to treat myself to the a9III for retirement, if it turns out to be a higher MP focus demon . I just grabbed the .4x and am excited to see how that works over the weekend (hopefully with good light). Here are a few from last few days of my quirky Ibis friends:
