Looking at a Snowy Egret in breeding plumage in the foreground and a Wood Stork in the background. The difference in size between the birds is quite evident.
Cropped from the left and the right, tripod mounted 200-600mm G zoom lens set to 312mm and A7rIII; silent shutter.
ISO 200, f6.3, 1/80 second.
Exposure Corrected +0.10 Stops.

Out early this morning at a local prairie preserve not far from home. Everyone is getting ready to head south. All shot with the A9 at various ISO levels and various levels of crop. They all seemed very skittish today, even with my camo suit on. Handheld or on a monopod. I'm really beginning to love this lens for portability in the field.

Not the best pose but a new bird for me. This is a Ruby Crowned Kinglet. Adults have a brilliant red crown that they flash when alarmed or excited. Otherwise it is not visible. The second shot is a big crop and if you look closely you can see some color under the olive green feathers. That is the crown hiding below.
