Do you still use your A7RIV with 200-600 with good success since FW 1.20? I may pick one up for extra pixel density
Thanks
No, I haven't done any additional evaluation since last week... Sorry, Nelson . I know Bryan Crowe reported an improvement though. Of course, it is difficult to assess the extent of the improvement. People's way of shooting is different and their objectives are different, too. The reason I haven't done more evaluation is simple, I do have a 600mm GM lens that seems to focus better, too, after the FW upgrade of the A7r IV. Since I am shooting under real-life conditions rather than just evaluation and the need to use a TC, I am relying more of my bird photography on the GM lens.

No problem.. I did pickup another A7RIV and will be testing it with the 200600. Hoping for slightly better results as I had missed the resolution vs.. My A9.. Ughh

Warbling vireo (I think!!). If so, it's the second new species to me this year on my property (been here since '92 so this is not a common occurrence). If I'm wrong let me know! All these warblers & vireos are are (a) hard to identify, and (b) hard to get a lens on, as they stay in the deep brush & only pop out on a sunny branch for a few seconds at a time.

I love my 100-400GM. Probably my favorite lens but your images with the 200-600 are making me consider it.
Thank you !
I also love my 100-400 for closeup shot and birds up close
200-600 is good but quite a lot bigger and heavier
if you have A9 or A7RIV then maybe TC 1.4 on 100-400 is an option if you want a little more length but less light also
