I use the B+W 95mm UV filter that I had on my Sigma 150-600 Sports before. Yes, I am one of those guys who uses UV/clear filters on lenses.
But, having examined the images with and without this XS-PRO 007m filter when zoomed in, got my doubts as to keeping it on the lens as I am seeing some slight image degradation. Maybe this will be the only lens without the B+W, given it has a massive lens hood and not being GM. The sharpness on G matters a lot here!

I'm seeing some nice shots with this lens. I have a few questions. IQ at 600mm? How is it for BIF regarding initial AF acquisition and tracking? Performance with the AR74?

A slow day for birds but the ground animals were out in full force, especially the rabbits. At one point I had three all too close to focus from the blind.

Osprey - I saw a few of them the other day near me, also doing some fishing. I only had the 100-400...after that I decided I "needed" the 200-600
These were shot with the A9+200-600+1.4 TC, still had to crop away a lot. I need to try the 200-600+14.4 TC with the A7RIV again. I had some success for the bald eagles at Conowingo but not so good for the Blue Angels and Thunderbird flyovers, which was a big shock to me.

There's another thread here about the performance of the 200-600 with the a7r iv. Check it out. I have the a7r iv and the a9ii. Maybe I'll head back to the osprey spot near me and try out the a7r iv with the 100-400 and 1.4x TC.
Today I wanted to give the filter a one more chance. Surprising enough, when I've taken it out of the filter case, it produced a wobble - the glass inside of the frame was loose. For sure, it is now going back to B&H. I am sharing this as a head-up in case some will decide to purchase the same XS-PRO 95mm clear filter for the 200-600 from B&H, have them shake it before shipping.
