KD ! Just another example of your incredible skills. These are fantastic as always. That first shot of the Hoatzin blew me away then they just kept coming. Even better is the time you spent with your son, good for you guys. Great, great work. YGMV

thanks so much Buddy for the constant support and encouragement. Ecuador was fascinating, and similar yet different than Costa Rica. Hard to explain

Like very much the off center placement of the birds in so many of the pictures. The
Carunculated Caracara in flight though is a terrific image that I could easily see printed at life size or even larger.
I will be with Luis in August of next year and your images are very convincing that this is a great trip with an excellent guide. As trips go this is one of the least demanding in terms of time driving to get to locations and that is quite appealing.
When I asked Luis whether to take the Nikon 500mm PF lens with my 80-400mm or to bring the 600mm f/4 he said that with the expected distances the 500mm would work very well if not better. That saves me about 10 lbs or more in travel gear with the lighter lens and no need for a tripod.
How good was the multi-flash setup that Luis provided?

I really like #11 the Purple Throated Woodstar ... and #3 Shiny Sunbeam! They are all very well captured and composed KD, but these 2 are my favorites!

Hi KD...
As a longtime fan of your work, this set further cements your talent as a photographer. However, and more importantly, your bond with your son during this trip must have been far more rewarding for you (and him). Photography has as many different motivations as photographers I suppose, but your particular motivation on this trip is indeed heartwarming.

Wow, KD, Ecuador clearly presents an embarrassment of riches to the bird photographer. Splendid set of images and in keeping with your already high standards of imagery.

KD, I am super impressed with the images you came back with from your trip. Wow, some of the images are really to die for; I meant, I would kill to be able to capture them . YGMV! I should plan a trip to Ecuador next, I guess.

Beautiful photos, as always, KD!!!
This trip is even more special because you got to share these memories with your son. I cannot wait until my boy is old enough to where we can go do similar things.
