of course the stacked adapters don't just work... I want to update the fw on the TZE-01 and the Fringer, but every link to TE's site redirects to the opening page.
Right now, when I turn on the camera, the lens focuses out, then in and then stops.
Interesting...I thought I'd try some stacked adapters. I tried Contax N 85mm f1.4 (Conurus converted) > Metabones> TZE> Z7 ... works fine. Using a Sigma MC-11 in place of the Metabones, doesn't work as well.

I’ve been MIA for a long time here.
Any updates since the early days?

I think the major update is that for IBIS, the TZE is not nearly what I would have hoped. It does not take focus distance into account at all and uses the same distance (.68M) for all focus distances and for a large number of lenses (I think all lenses but I am not sure). Worse yet, it appears that the TZE uses 50mm or something close as the focal length of all lenses tested. The good news here is that 50mm lenses and close to that focal length work about as would be expected for three axis stabilization. The bad news is that longer lenses (I tested the Voigtlander 110 f/2.5) only get about a stop or two at the most improvement from IBIS. The even worse news is that wide angle lenses don't benefit from IBIS at all and their performance may even be impaired by the adapter with IBIS turned on. I would turn the IBIS off with any lens wider than 24 of 25mm with the TZE.

For anyone that got the firmware update to work - did it change the version number of the adapter in the camera menu? My update seems to run (after finding a USB cable that would work) but the version number in camera is still 1.0....

Well, I received my adapter today, and have found that the Techart Pro website doesn't seem to be working (all links revert to the homepage). Was hoping to get the English manual, and firmware software to make sure all is up to date, but... not today apparently.

Regarding IBIS problem maybe it's possible to isolate one of the pins in order to bypass the wrong communication to IBIS and keep the rangefinder green focus confirmation (the only advantage I see using TZE instead of a dumb adapter) ==> ok taking apart AF that I don't use with loxia or voigtlander MF lens

remember to update the TZE WITHOUT any lens connected to the adapter
It works for me
I can see no advantage in the 2.0 since I'm using only MF loxia or voigtlander
I'm not happy because a dump adapter is more useful regarding IBIS (I have 21/1,4 85/2,4 and 110/2,5)
I like the idea of the green dot without magnify, green dot is very precise,
not like rangefinder dot in the nikon dslr ovf
If you are more a "fifty guy" than TZE can be good for you (thanks Steve for your test, I confirm every word from you)

Has anyone used this adapter on the Sony 200-600 or 400 2.8 lens to a Z7?
Yes I have and it's not working well for me at the moment. I've recently did the firmware upgrade and the problems I had previously seem to be gone but focusing issues have started. I'll have to troubleshoot more before I can give you any details but it's not in a usable state for me yet.

Hi, I am very puzzled about why Nikon does not offer green box focus confirmation for MF lenses without eletronic contacts, while on the same time offer profiles setting for those MF lenses. The focus confirmation is certainly a CMOS thing and really don't need any lens information. Or am I wrong about it?
I know I can go with TZE-01 and even stack another Techart AF adapter (e.g. LM-Z) and then use the M lenses with the green box (but not AF, not yet). But that seems to be a very expensive and unneccessary complication. Cheers.

Has any progress been made with the TZE not reporting accurate focal length for VR? Also does this just effect MF lenses or does it affect AF lenses too?

No progress that I know of on the IBIS issue, and yes it affect AF lenses as well as MF lenses.

So it looks like my focusing error may have been more user error than the adapter. I am able to focus a whole lot better now that the adapter is connected fully! I still have not taken it out in the field for a true test. I'll get some test shots of the Moon weather permitting.

I am guessing that the focus ring on the Sony lens will never be successfully reversed engineered to provide support for Control Ring customization like ISO, Exp Comp, Aperture either because it's too proprietary Nikon? Especially in the context that Techart still hasn't even gotten basic things like AF and IBIS right?

Update - I tried it again and it worked
Has anyone successfully updated to the newest 2.0 firmware? It says No devices found. I tried on 2 mac computers and 1 PC running Windows 10 with the latest updates. I also tried several different USB cables. I successfully updated the firmware a few months ago to 1.0. Any ideas?
