I had a monopod with me but had it on my pack. This was handheld. I find I can handhold this lens for short stretches before fatigue sets in. The IQ of this beast is pretty impressive...guess I need to use it more!

Certainly have, we were there last year at this time.
As you say, there are many photo ops as it is a stunning place. We were only there for 3 nights and spent one of those days from early morning up at Glenorchy, just up the road a piece as I'm sure you know. Needed more time at Queenstown itself to do some more early morning late afternoon shots but we were on a tight schedule. Have to get back there soon and do it justice.
The colours and subjects in this set really "pop" off my screen... do you mind my asking what post processing program you use to process your raw files?

Lovely shots as always Lance! Some say the coastal drive from Queenstown to Glenorchy is the best in New Zealand....
Cheers and good light, David
Thank you very much for your kind comments, David. Much appreicated.
Completely agree with your assessment of the Queenstown to Glenorchy drive. Stunning landscapes to be had everywhere. New Zealand is such a beautiful place!
all shot wide open....I tried focus lock tracking with a different lens but did not work so well...also tried Dynamic-Area AF, but Wide Area AF work the best for me...this was all done with the latest firmware version 3.

Interesting
why would we need eye/face tracking?
I think I will try wide area large for BIF
I have been using auto area with 70% success but still experimenting as I just have the z7 recently.
