Thanks & agree that the second one is the stronger image. It was also much easier to take with no hike, no freezing wind and no time pressure

Got a 300mm PF a while back, and was immediately impressed with its performance. But even more so after pairing it with a TC-14EIII Teleconverter this week. Much sharper than I expected.

The AF-S 300 PF was excoriated in DSLR days due to some kind of VR failure in a critical range of shutter speeds: 1/60�1/125sec I think. With MILC perhaps the issue is moot. I have since found other ways to hit 300mm.

Very early the next morning in Mount Cook NP. Mount Blackburn is the triangular peak on the right and the moon was now setting on the other side of the valley.
