Yes, I'm dumb. Habit from years of shooting with a Canon 24-105. Even though i've had the 24-120 for almost 3 years.

In preparation of the release of the Voigtlander Nokton Classic 35mm f/1.4, I just received the Nikon ZF. I must say: I'm blown away by its SOOC JPEGs. Now I wonder if the in-camera JPEG engine has ZF-specific tweaks or not? Having sold my Z8 recently, I cannot compare.

First morning light on the peak of Cascade Mountain, Banff, Alberta. January 2026. Camera matching Landscape profile.

Even though the Z50 and kit lenses (my choice for airline travel when photography is not the priority) feel like plastic toys compared to the Z8/Z9, the quality they deliver is impressive. As a former D500 owner I shouldn't be surprised about the quality from the Z50 sensor.
