Well, I've just gotten back from a two week trip through Italy, starting in Venice and then continuing on to Florence, Rome, and Sorrento. This will be the first of MANY posts with those images, as I make my way through processing them. Venice is interesting to do architectural work in, since when looking at correcting verticals it's extremely difficult...because of the sinking ground, there are very few buildings that are actually straight. Many of the bell towers are leaning...some very significantly.
Starting off with the first batch from Venice: Zf with 14-24/2.8 S and 24-120/4 S:
I agree they are lovely. I'm seeing in your images, and I'm also seeing in my vacation photos from Italy, that the Nikon sensors really are wonderful with the tonal rolloff and DR. Out of some necessity, a lot of the images I had to take recently were done in harsh mid-day lighting, and I remember a time when that spelled doom for your images. Of course better light still makes for better photographs, but I'm amazed at how much these cameras can handle harsh light and still make it look good.
