Unfortunately, the weather cooperated only on this one day.
Actually four balloon races were planned over this weekend, three of them unfortunately literally fell into the water. 52. Montgolfiade by Vento, auf Flickr
Z8 with Z MC 105mm f/2.8 VR S - 127 shot focus stack. Got a temperture warning on my flash, and it started to miss every other shot near the end of the stack, but still had enough to get the last little bit of detail. I set it to 3 seconds between shots to let the flashes recycle, but I guess I should have done 5. Background is taken in shot, not composited, and is my computer monitor behind the shell.
This one is taken at about 1.3x magnification, using the MC 105/2.8, and the Nisi Closeup Lens 77mm NC, which provides extra magnification with no light loss, and is surprisingly excellent when shooting at around f/11. This is a 113 shot stack. (at wide apertures, the close-up filter introduces a fair bit of optical aberrations, but stopped down it's brilliant, with almost no effect on sharpness, and no CA).
Not that any of you likely care, but here's the setup (excuse the clutter on my desk)...my primary monitor is to the left out of frame:
With Nikon 50mm/f1.2 and Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2. At MFD, Voigtlander has the SA glow, which Nikon just does not, which is quite amazing. On the other hand, the soft glow of Voigtlander is quite loverly, and I do like it. Depending on what one is after for the image, you just choose the different tool. SA quickly disappears as you close down, then it is quite a sharp lens too.

We went to watch last weekends, both days were cancelled due to weather.
Traffic was insane getting in to town so we were bummed of coarse. Luckily they had a few other things
going on like tractor pulls, bounce houses, and other kid stuff.

I wonder if the 40/1.2 SA changes with focusing distance ... I mean, is it more present at MFD ?
He must be a Pachi-Pro. He is the only one with that many balls. I never really played pachinko that much although it is where I grew up, but had friends who were good. Not as good as this guy though.
