Spent this past Saturday night roaming Joshua Tree NP to chase the night sky. It was a great night to be out as it was a New Moon. This image is a panorama of the foreground and sky. All of the cars driving by during the foreground's 4 minute exposures really lit it up nicely. The sky is a 6 image pano, but the exposures were taken at 1:30AM, same night, in the Porcupine Wash area of the park, (about 15 miles south east of the foreground).

A few images taken this week in the garden. For the first time we have a pair of long tailed tits nesting in the hedge and therefore took the opportunity to photograph them A robin also got in on the act. All taken on the Z7 + Sigma 150-600mm Sports.
Ireland? No, Idaho - Spring has finally arrived in Southeastern Idaho and with it some green in the foothills surrounding the high desert area. As summer arrives this green will be replaced with browns and reds as the rainfall subsides and the temperatures rise.
Had an early morning drop off at the airport in Albuquerque and stopped off at this spot on the highway on my return to Santa Fe. This is a view towards Santa Fe and the Sangre de Cristo mountains, the air is filled with smoke from two wildfires nearby driven by relentless high winds.
Couple shots from yesterday. Z9 with 500mm PF, First Image was ISO 4000, and the second ISO 12800. Ran both RAW files through DeepPrime for noise reduction before finishing in LR
The reality of these wildfires sinks in a bit more, when you can make an image from your front patio. Lots of heat shimmer here but it's more of a document of an event. After 60 hours straight of 40-70 MPH winds a calm morning allows for smoke to rise.
