The 50 1.2 S is an awesome lens. If you want something faster than a 1.8 and have the cash and can actually find one the 1.2 is great. I have no regrets with this lens. akul wrote:
I am really loving the rendering of these shots. Pristine, crisp and sharp while soft. Hmmmm.

Yes. Rendering of this lens is quite attractive. I don’t need it, but it’s lure is hard to ignore. Right now, it is hard to find one, which, in my case, is not a bad thing. I may dissuade myself .
Seriously though, this was from a recent glamping trip and lighting was rather limited as power is only through a generator and it was cloudy for the most part.
This is truly when fast vintage lenses really shiny. I could get usable image at around ISO800-3200 with a terrific bokeh drawing.
All by Canon FD 55mm F1.2 AL (the first Aspherical) with Z6II. The lens' aspherical element was precision ground by a technician (using a machine that is) and its signature is that you get the advantage of aspherical elements but little to none of the "onion rings" effect from a machine ground aspherical elements. Pretty much all the aspherical lenses from the era (where machine ground technique has yet to be developed) share similar signature.
I rented the Nikon Z7 II and 24-200mm and took some images locally to see how I liked it. I was persuaded enough to purchase a Z7 and will looking for some lenses.
