Beautiful photographs Chris! I really like the first one; the way the low-angle of the sun hits the moving water. Well done and do keep them coming.
Between the z7ii and the z6ii, after doing a few rounds of tests, I think I'll use the z6ii for wildlife, and the z7ii for landscapes and portraits. This is with a z7ii.
More noise from the z7ii at higher ISOs than I'd like to deal with. The z6ii is much cleaner and focuses better, IMHO. But the z7ii produces very clean ISO-64 images (which I am sure I'll love for landscapes - taking it to Colorado soon and New England later in fall).
As for the 70-200 f/2.8 S, I am not happy with the images produced by the z6ii for some reason - no oomph.
However, on the z7ii, that lens is a beauty. I guess the z7ii's high resolution brings out the lens' true strength.
So currently, that's what I am going with - the z6ii + FTZ on the Sigma 500mm f/4 and z7ii on the 70-200mm f/2.8 S. I also bought a 14-24mm f/2.8 S which I will get next week - I hope it also works beautifully with the z7ii.

Tripod are over-rated! Haha! Nice picture!
When am I pretty sure that I will be taking landscape images, I do bring and use a tripod. However, there are many times when I am out and about for other reasons (in this case, walking the dogs), but bring the camera along (without tripod) just in case. In these cases, I will shoot handheld. I bump up the ISO, use proper handholding technique, and then fire off a series of images. The image stabilization system (body and lens) of the Z system cameras definitely helps!
