It's definitely heavier than the 100-400 but hand holdable for 15 or 20 minutes. It feels hefty but better than the Nikon 500 F4 and the Sigma 150-600 Sports and the 60-600 Sports I had.

Congrats. The answer I got for the one I paid for 2 months ago was “maybe on the 16th...maybe not.”
The more I think about it the angrier I get. I’m trying to tell myself it’s just a camera lens, what’s another week or two? But there are people in this thread that say their pre-order from B&H that was made 2 weeks after the announcement has shipped. I ordered mine 5 days after the announcement. Mountains were moved for you having paid in full yesterday. The answer I get for paying in full almost 2 months ago is “sorry...wish it was simpler...I don’t know where you are in the queue so yours might come on the 16th or it might not.”
I’m not going to cancel my order, but trust that I’ll be checking every day for any other retailer to have one in stock. If I find one before B&H can ship mine...it’ll be cancelled. No matter what happens from here on out I’ve got a rather sour taste in my mouth.

Has anyone figured out what brand and style of carrying case will work with this lens? Specifically the a9 and 200-600? Maybe something from Think Tank, Kinesis or Lowepro?

Tough. Not many can get away with taking a suddenly needed half sick day on a Friday afternoon !
The worst is when delivery attempt fails on a Friday and you have to schedule a redelivery on the next business day 😱. Been there. Now with Fedex if delivery attempt fails e.g., nobody home or worse nobody answers the doorbell grrrr, Fedex will drop off at a local Drop Box ( a local Pharmacy store in my case) and I can pick it up any time.

I use ThinkTank AirportUltralight back bag. 200-600 mounted to A9 + tele converter is fitting inside.

I bet this kit fit in PeakDesign 30L backpack mounted, with all three dividers folded in on one side of the bag or the other. I am going to try the A9+200-600 kit with the PD 20L as I can fit/carry my A9 mounted to GM 100-400 lengthwise on one side of the bag with room to spare ( hood reversed).

I'm currently using a Lowepro backpack that is working great. But I'm specifically looking for a holster style bag that holds just one a9 and the 200-600.
I just got a reply directly from Think Tank and they said the only holster they have that will fit this lens and camera is the Digital Holster 150.

Important for me because on the other side will be a7Riii/Tam17-28/Tam28-75/FE70300G

The Wimberley Foot is very tight but mine does fit. Be sure to loosen the screw on the side of the foot before you try to install it.

The Wimberley foot I bought was supposedly made for the 200-600, not the same one for the 100-400.
