From yesterday - I am still blown away by the Sigma 35mm f/1.2 8 DG DN at wide open aperture… although I have to admit that the GM is a superb performer as well.

Trying to get into street portraiture. These pictures are not very interesting, but for now I am focusing on actually daring to ask people for their picture--interesting images can come later.

(1) This one took a fair bit of LoCA removal, still see a remnant in his hair at the front. But the 55mm continues to impress as a short portrait lens if its images are given a fair amount of treatment. (2) I really like portraits of strong male faces, here is another. But keep in mind these are taken in blinding light, no profiles, no flash and no fill light. So chalk it up to the maligned 55mm. And Sony dynamic range, of course.

You captured the moment really well. Great job! Manually focused, huh? What lens was that?
Thank you! I took a big chance manually focusing but didn’t have a good telephoto lens in my bag (and my bro knows i’m just a hobbyist). This was shot with the Loxia 85 stopped down a fair bit as a safeguard.
