Do self portraits count? I take at least one moody one per season I've been a baby face my whole life, but woke up seeing myself for my actual age for once and had to record it.

Absolutely! Your son certainly looks like you, Scott!

I was in Las Vegas last week and I took this new lens with me to try out. Then I saw this couple posing in front of the Fountain at Bellagio. After getting the okay from the pro photographer, I took a few of the couple and I did send these plus a few more. The couple was happy with their images. Here are two of them and both were taken at wide open aperture...

Took the new Batis 85mm f1.8 out for a shoot at Bombay Beach, a pretty much desolate area along the western side of the Salton Sea. Only a few hardy souls still live there, but it seems the local "art" community has been updating a few of the deserted building with some interesting objects. The local "museum" had 2 rooms with plumbing art, one full of painted plungers and the other with about 100 toilet bowl brushes hanging from the ceiling.
Had a wonderful model with me and therefore my photos highlight her, more than widescapes of the local art. Hope you enjoy.

In researching the Batis 85 to replace my Sony FE 85, (because of the OIS) I read that some did not like the bokeh of the lens. Here are a few photos showing closeups and the bokeh seems pretty great to me, as these are all at f2.

Was at my friend's wedding a few months ago in Ravello and grabbed a few nice shots with the a7r iii and Sony 50 1.4 ZA. Note, these were all candids and not posed shots.

When I had the Batis (I bought it for a friend and used it for a couple of weeks before I have it to him) I loved the colours, the pop and especially the flare resistance. It’s impressive how good it is for backlit shots. Also the chromatic aberrations are better than the Sony fe 85 that I bought after that.
However, the Bokeh is in the league of the Sony fe 85 1.8 and the canon 85 1.8 (even the canon in some of my tests was a bit smoother). This is, far worse than the Samyang 85 1.4 I have now, or the Sony gm.
But of course, at close focus distances every lens shows good bokeh...
Edit: I also felt the focus speed /accuracy was better in the Sony 85 1.8 (vs Batis, tested in A7r2 though), and i could not feel the lens oss in that camera, I mean, I got the same minimum speed with oss on than I used to get by that time with the canon 85 1.8 or the Sony fe I had later in the same camera. The Batis however is a really beautiful lens to look at.

Just had a fun "Steam Punk" shoot this past Sunday. Shots taken with the Sony A7RIV and either the 85 F1.4 GM or the 16-35 F2.8 GM. Used 2x Profoto B10s, MAGMOD Softbox and Profoto B2s

This sample shot of Janesa was taken firing directly the ad200 with the round head on. The lens used is the cheap Sony 50 1.8.
I just put my preset in Lightroom to get my colors, and edited the skin with the typical frequency separation method. I barely do this because I usually go too far and I prefer realistic pictures, but in these cases with a strobe, I feel myself forced to do it...

One of the images from an impromptu and very brief session at the beach in Santa Monica while I was taking sunset pictures. I happened to have that lens with me and completely unexpectedly, I ended up using it here.
