My daughter got her face painted at a Ronald McDonald House benefit festival. I had not photographed with the Zeiss 100/2 Makroplanar in awhile. I decided to break it out for a brief photo session with my Sony A7III. It is a challenging lens to shoot children with as they are always moving. Fun to use when it works out. I need to practice with it more often.
This is great. Love the depth on that lens. I said it's the first one where I think I understood the "3D pop" concept. But man is it a brick.
Sharing two more from the weekend. I usually gravitate to my 85 for portraits, but found I was really liking the way the 55 worked for these "Rembrandt style" images.

Thank you! It is indeed a brick, but it's my favorite brick of all time.
Really liking the texture and color on those two portraits. Did you use PS or something like Exposure?

I’m gonna rent it again at some point and see how I feel about it again. It’s nicely balanced, but it’s a real mental hurdle for me to see that size bump going down to 1.2.
Both 😉. C1 to PS then using Exposure plugin for final color and overlay effects.

Seriously these are works of art. Fantastic. And everyone else on here is just crushing it lately. Really enjoying this thread.

Impressive!
Gabriel, your skin tones look fantastic!
Any tip about lighting? Did you use a strip box as main? And then the gelled lights in the sides ...
My old yongnuo speed light (really old, I bought it for canon many years ago) died and I bought a Godox AD200 and a Godox Octa for a photo shoot I’ll have soon. I also have a tiny tt350 for casual use and as secondary light, and a x1t to control.
Bipock, I love your shot! was it difficult to take that kind of shot with the wide angle? What underwater case are you using?

Why thank you very much!
You got it right. This is a small Glow Stripox 3'x'1 with a Godox SL200 as main. I wanted a lot of control of the light for a more dramatic look and then have the model hold the heart away from the main light mostly and then having the back LED with blue Gel (Rotolight Neo 2s) lighting the heart from the back.

Heading back to the Big Apple Circus with my daughter this weekend. Got these last year using the a7r iii and the 85 GM. Looking forward to seeing how the a7r iv will do this year. All shot at 1/250 which seemed to work well for the subjects.
