I never been thrilled by lenses' sample pictures from DP. I just looked at them and it's really hard to tell sharpness at wide open. I'm really interested to see sharpness at f4 of this lens compared with f4 version when there are more reviews.

So what you're saying is the weather sealing is pretty damn good
Seriously though, you must have gotten drenched - did you use a baggy, or did you just trust the weather sealing?
I used Dicapac water proof bag. While I trust weather sealing in light rain, Songkran Festival is something else.
Bucket of water or splash from a water truck is not quite the same thing as light rain
Also a few not so nice people used ice water, sometimes with lots of ice chips in it.
I saw a few brave souls with Canon and Nikon DSLR without any protection.
Also already saw a few whining from people on local forum where their DSLR died after the festival
Got home from work this evening, opened the box that was just delivered and took a walk around the pond
I know, just a snapshot but thought I would post one.
I did some test shots with the setting sun in the frame too. Outstanding flare control.
Lens has a great feel and initial thought is a very good balance on the Z6. I agree with Dave, the focus ring has a great feel and I am so glad I can control aperture with the rear ring. Muscle memory from using the adapted manual lenses.
This shot at f/2.8 because I bought it for the 2.8
Using a Z6. Got this lens yesterday and I’ve only tested it while walking the dog so far. It’s very light weight and the finish is very nice. It’s 42g heavier than my 28E + FTZ and about a centimetre shorter when zoomed out. It’s not as sharp as the 28E at 2.8, but still plenty sharp. Especially the corner sharpness is superb. The only thing I don’t like is the lens hood. The felt inner lining is a dust and hair magnet.
Just got back from a trip. @28mm, f2.8, iso 2800, 1/30s, handheld.
The picture was cropped a bit more.
Of course as soon as I saw this, I ran back to my hotel room to get a tripod and as soon as I got the camera set up on the tripod, the thunder storm was over

I love this shot !!! The colors and feel are just amazing
Have had my 24-70 f2.8S for about a week, but have not really had the chance to give it a whirl until a few days ago. I have now found the new standard by which all other 24-70 f2.8 lenses should be judged - or *any* 24-70 lens for that matter.
Optically: Super sharp whether near or far, sharp across the frame, sharp at f2.8, great colour and great contrast. Build quality: Solid and beautifully built. Lot's smaller and lighter than my old 24-70 f2.8E VR, which I loved but have now sold for this lens.
Nothing special, just my usual places to go around Sydney that I am familiar with and can then judge against other images that I have taken of the same places with different lenses. You get to know what the results are like without needing to do back to back or side by side testing. This lens rocks!
trying to show different focal lengths, apertures and subject matter.
The more I use this lens, the more I am stunned by it. It seems to have been overlooked because of the release of the 14-30 f4S at the same time, which has garnered most of the spotlight, and thus the 24-70 f2.8S has slipped under the radar to a large degree. However, *this* is the lens that really shines, it is amazing, the detail and clarity is just incredible. Nikon have done a brilliant job on this lens.
A few more from today's walk about Sydney.
