I’m very happy with my Sony 85mm F1.8. Note that the “T” Stop is F1.8-rare! Not sure about the Samyang’s T stop and vignetting. The 85mm FL is not my favorite for FF portraiture. Instead, I prefer a much longer FL lens.
SAR is saying "autofocus is the fastest on any Samyang FE lens yet. Image quality is close to the GM lens and the Samyang is also a tiny bit shorter." We'll see if that pans out or if the price turns out to be much higher than expected.

It looks like it will be 8mm (0.31") shorter than the GM.
Are the other Samyang FE AF lenses also weather sealed? That was a nice surprise to see, and proof that we shouldn't have to pay GM prices for basic watersealing.

I'm already sure I'm getting one, and would be willing to be the guinea pig, but Samyang's pricing strategy means I'm waiting. You know they'll discount it $100-$200 shortly after launch, which makes it hard to stomach ordering initially...
Those in the EU, wait for a couple Amazon.de reviews and the price will drop down dramatically. This has been the case with their 35mm and 24mm lenses.
Just one month from launch, the price gets slashed!
