Some macros with natural light from the same group of wildflowers. If anyone could provide an ID on the last insect it would be appreciated.

A local nest.
Couldn't see any young ones, but mom was sure acting like they are there.

I tried the Sigma 150-600c with the MC-11, and added a Kenko C-AF 1.4x DGX tc.
It worked pretty well.

Just got my A9 Friday and this was the first chance to give it a quick try with the GM 100-400 and some with TC 1.4. Obviously a test of me rather than of the outfit! For me I am impressed. But, I have to thank the posts of Lunar Module and Geoff (arbitrage) and others for directing me on the right track as to settings I used – this thread is a great resource https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1589241/0 Thank you all. Now to practice, practice, practice and not just for BIFs.

Common Yellowthroat was interesting to shoot given it was perching in tall Canary Grass. All are cropped.

This is pretty well a 100% crop and while it didn’t work each time I thought it did an excellent job of keeping the bird in focus despite the immediate foreground grass.

Not sharp but from the looks of the food in the female’s bill, there might be a nest in the area.

One of the VERY few of Barn Swallows that was close to being in focus (or in the frame

Warning: These are captive animals, except the frog. I went to the zoo this morning to test the Sigma 60-600 Sports at 600mm on the Sony A7RIII. The animal eye AF worked (but not always) on a variety of animals, even the frog!

I tried the Sigma 150-600, mc-11, with the Kenko 1.4 tc on the a6400, although it worked, the image was a bit soft, and in
very good light, it did a bit of hunting. It can work, but it's far from ideal.

A little soft on the focus but I like this composition with the clouds. A9 and 100-400GM with 1.4TC handheld

All 60-600 Sigma EF mount lenses were sold out..ending up with GM 100-400.
This one was taken using A6400...obviously I have not master the focusing technique, yet

This is an image taken last month at Gatorland in Florida. Image cropped but straight out of camera and taken with tripod mounted 100-400mm GM and A7rIII.

I am going through the images of this bird and would like to process them. Anyone know what imature wading bird this is? Immature/fledgling Tricolored Heron

Much appreciated.

Rich
