I am grateful to live in the area where Bushtits are to be found, for they are the cutest little birds imaginable. They are the only species in the family Aegithalidae found in the New World. They eat mostly insects, so don't normally visit bird feeders, but are attracted to suet, and these social birds will suddenly arrive in groups of 10-30, and just as quickly depart minutes later. It is only when seen up close that their tiny size is truly appreciated.

What a great collection, you must have fast reflexes to get these!
Thanks!
Similar to some other birds like Kinglets, they don't sit still for a second, and can turn your hair grey and raise blood pressure trying to get them. I have deleted many, many shots of empty branches. Having a very fast-focusing lens in critical.
Beautiful images of an interesting subject. I admire your technique and persistence with such a difficult subject. We have bushtits here but getting images of the quality of yours is nearly impossible. YGMV.

Thanks Dave.
For those interested, here's where the Bushtit is found:
I will need many more years to work on my Bushtit portfolio before ever coming up with a set this good and with this much variety of perches, backgrounds and poses. But I did have flocks in the 40s or so coming through the yard yesterday.

Thanks for the kind words Geoff. (I'll pay you later like we agreed).
