Factoid: They way to differentiate the males from the females of this species is their eye colour - the males have dark eyes, whereas the females have light yellow eyes.
These sure are charming little buggers, Colin! You did them justice in a variety of settings, all so complimentary to them. I'm not familiar with the species so that made these even more special for me.

*Just got in from an outing for Short-eared Owls. Up at 5:15 am, one hour drive getting there, unfortunately no photos of that particular target, just a far-distance sighting.
