I am grateful to live in the area where Bushtits are to be found, for they are the cutest little bird imaginable. They are the only species in the family Aegithalidae found in the New World. They eat mostly insects, so don't normally visit bird feeders, but are attracted to suet, and these social birds will suddenly arrive in groups of 10-30, and just as quickly depart minutes later. It is only when seen up close that their tiny size is appreciated.
Their nest is a vertical "sock" shape
