Nice pictures.
I plan to spend a whole day with Z6+70-200/4 VR combo.
Hope to post soon some pictures and my impressions as well.

I just bought one on the B&S here - my big concern is AF performance with the FTZ.

This probably won't help - but the Z6 is one of the most impressive cameras I've used in a while.

I came from Fuji (which I shot for years and still use) - my last camera was the X-T2 and the AF of the Z6 is definitely better, but I must admit I've never used the X-T3. Everything is just so quick - very dSLR like - I shot Canon FF for years and ever since I went mirrorless I was always a little bothered by the lag (on/off, AF, etc) but the Z6 is the most dSLR like mirrorless camera I've used thus far - at least in terms of performance. And the Nikon S lenses are fantastic so far - I've got all 3 at this point and really like them. I just picked up a 70-200 f/4 on the buy/sell here and I'll be interested to see how the AF is with the FTZ.

One from today - it's really hard for me to believe that people are complaining about the Z6 AF......(24-70s).....

With release of the Oly E-M1X imminent, and the huge price drop in the Fuji X-H1, I've been trying hard for two weeks to fall in love with m43 and X-Trans. It doesn't seem to be working. Given my familiarity with all things Nikon, and general inertia, the Z6 is looking better every day. The initial batch of Nikkor S has really impressed me, too. Based on images in the two main Z threads, the 50/1.8S is unmatched in F mount and has moved to the top of my buy list. The 24-70/4S looks equally impressive and would have a more practical purpose for me (event).

I think it's because most are so used to the way Nikon Dslrs operate ,they are under assumption that mirror less nikon bodies are going to work the exact same way, but most people coming from mirror less bodies, kinda already have a slightly different procedure. It took me a couple days to really adapt my shooting style to the z6, and it took almost a whole period of hockey to not get out of focus images. But after you figure it out, IMHO, it's consistent as my d5 in decent to good light, in darkness, like iso6400 2.8 1/100, it tends to faulter a bit more, and the d5 autofocus really shines, but the d5 costs 6500 and the z6 is 2k, so yeah, the d5 better outshine the z6 in darkness.

@turbodude It's safe to say you have bonded nicely with Z! I shoot with FX, DX and Alpha 7 so the Z6 would feel second nature. I want and fully expect larger bodies from Nikon in the future but scratching the itch cannot always wait.

I'm finding the 38 1.8 pretty amazing as well, in fact I think its my favorite of the S trio so far.....

I agree with that article. Both of the Nikon Z cameras have World Class sensors, and produce excellent images. You have to work hard to mess them up as far as exposure goes. 6 stops, cheeeezz....

Nice images! How did you find the AF worked in relatively low light?

Today I visited the non-catholic cemetery in Rome (link) with Z6 and AI 50/1.4.
I like the old-style, low-contrast rendition of that 40-year old Nikkor.

it handles it well, my camera basically lives in AFC Dynamic AF, and it didnt have any issues with the light shown in those snow photos. however in less contrasty scenes, it can hunt a little in the iso6400 and higher range (1/125 2.8), but if you set it to AF-S in that light, it locks right away.
