So I though may be it's not worth for me to buy a $60-battery again, but Nikon Z battery is much worse than the Sony.
I'd also advise to get an original Nikon battery as backup. I bought a 15€ battery for my D600 and after charging maybe 10 times it's good for maybe 50 shots (compared to over 700 with my 4-year old Nikon original) and it loses its charge by itself (while in the bag) in a matter of days.
So I've decided once I get the Z6, I will bite the bullet and buy another Nikon EN-EL15b.
If you're set on a cheaper option, search for "EN-EL 15" on Amazon, there are several options, but make sure to check the user reviews of the batteries offered... also, for the Z6, make sure to get a battery that's similar to the 15b version, i.e. it can be charged in-camera (if that's important for you). The older EN-EL 15a will work in the Z6 but has to be charged externally.
I guess I will buy the Nikon EL15b. I don't want to "buy cheap buy twice" anyway. I used third-party batteries for my Fuji XE3 and they were as good as the manufacture's one. But they haven't made batteries for Nikon Z yet.
Another (negligible) difference between Z6 and Z7 (just for the sake of order ):
I finally (!!!) hold my Z6+FTZ kit in my hands (and it still includes the free XQD card-yay!). While unpacking, I noticed some writing on the box was manually crossed out (see photo below). Browsing the manual revealed that the Z7 comes with a charger that will charge the battery in-camera (EH-7P) while the Z6 "only" comes with the MH-25a "external" charger.
Sorry if this has been mentioned before, just wanted to let you know in case you wonder about the marking on the Z6 box, as I did.
And now for charging the battery, slapping on a nice AI-S lens, or maybe the 58G, and shooting!

Oh ! Whoever was proofing the box print must have made a huge error requiring house elves to cross out those mistakes, assuming the box says Z6.
Good point-it does! I guess they designed the Z7 box first and forgot to delete that item when they changed the "7" into a "6". Somewhere in the world there's the lucky guy who found the error first and got a free charger from Nikon for pointing it out...

Congrats Markus; finally. I got mine 2 weeks ago (including the free 64Gb fast XQD card).
Congrats too! I guess you got it from Cameratools.nl? They are advertising on Amazon Germany too, seemed to be the first ones around to have the Camera+FTZ only kits. Nice shop, I bought some lighting stuff from them a while ago.
I pulled the trigger when it was available from Amazon themselves at a discount (4%, but hey...), as my dealer hasn't been able to provide any information on a shipping date for weeks... I got worried I wouldn't get the free card anymore, so I ordered now instead of waiting for them, although I generally try to support the local shops.
How do you like it so far? I just did some test snaps around the house (I LOVE the VF and the focus peaking with the 50mm f/1.2), but I realize I really have to learn the new controls first. We're going to London for a weekend soon, hope to have some opportunity to put it through its paces then.

Thanks, I got the kit with the 24-70S and FTZ (not from Cameratools), it took 5 weeks to get one.
So far I'm liking it a lot, especially the EVF and focus peaking. I still have to learn about the AF, but that will come. I posted some images on the MF-thread.
i have had the Z6 since it came out (no Z7 because i already have the D850) and haven't had much time to work with it. the other day i had to go into NYC to do a little job and i threw it in my bag with the 24-70S. shot about 5 images with it wandering down from 30th St to Chinatown. 2 images rez'd down and done through PScc. just "getting to know you" shots.

It seems that you too, like me, have dust/oil speckles on the Z6 sensor after a limited use ...
I have for sure.
I'm rather disappointed. I never had such problems after having used for two years a different brand APS-C ML camera.

FF MILC's are very prone to dust specs I have had with Sony A7r, A7s, A7II and A7rII along with my Leica M9, M240 and Monochrom and they were all prone to dust spots. I used a variety of techniques to minimize and clean the sensor. About 3 times a year I would take the bodies to a local camera shop who would clean the sensors while I waited. I also have an artic butterfly, blower and wet wipes. With the larger sensor it is open to the elements and dust can pose a problem. I used to turn my FF MILC's downwards to change the lens while I was outdoors. If I noticed dust spots I would use a strong blower and blow upwards while the body was pointed down. Most of the time this resolves the issue. If there is minute amounts of oil smearing then I would take it to my local camera repair centre to clean the sensor under the microscope.
its not hockey, but put the z6 thru some heavy load for boxing last night. though i must report an issue... the thumb wheel of one of my z6's stopped working. its currently stuck at 1/2000 of a second and iso 4000. ive contacted my NPS rep and hopefully be dropping it off tomorrow in LA (if they are open for MLK day)
