I've seen owls in rehab centers responding favorably to having their heads being caressed and groomed by their human handlers, just like dogs and cats do. I wondered how this owl response in captivity corresponded to anything in nature. Your photos provide the answer. Nice photos, great behavioral captures. Thanks for sharing these!

I have seen these interactions among burrowing owls quite a few times actually. Thank you for your feedback and kind comment!
